This premium treatment developed by Lumenis, the world leaders in light based cosmetic treatments, uses high intensity light to remove unwanted hair follicles leaving the skin silky and smooth.
IPL is a relatively gentle treatment that works by attacking the melanin within the pigment of the hair follicles. As the melanin absorbs the energy from the powerful light the pigment heats up and effectively annuls the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.
Quantum IPL is one of a limited number of systems fully approved by the FDA*, the world’s most demanding medical approval authority, as a safe treatment for hair removal.
Most people are suitable for treatment with IPL however the best results are usually achieved with clients who have fair skin and dark hair as this is more easily treated due to its high concentration of melanin.
At 111 Harley St we believe that IPL is also best suited to treating smaller areas of unwanted hair which is why we specialise in facial, underarm and bikini line areas.
IPL, as with all hair removal procedures, will require a number of treatments sessions to ensure the best possible and lasting result.
