We have a 99% satisfaction rate with our lip filler treatments. For those patients who do not like the results, our fillers can all be dissolved using dissolve with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that melts away hyaluronic acid rapidly and safely.
Lip Fillers are predominately made of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the skin as part of the extracellular matrix and as a component of collagen. A water-binding humectant, HA draws moisture deep from within the dermis to sit at the surface of the skin.
Because it is already a biocompatible chemical, one that the skin recognises and knows, there is an almost impossible chance to react badly to hyaluronic acid fillers.

There are a variety of different brands of Hyaluronic Acid lip fillers – Volbella, Restylane, Belotero, Juvederm and Teoxane are just a few.
The difference between these fillers tends to be viscosity; how thick or thin the actual filler is. For lips, our Aesthetic Nurses opt for a filler that is more liquid, allowing it to take on a more natural quality within the lip.

This is entirely unique per patient, but the average treatment begins with 0.5-1ml (aka 1 syringe) of filler. Following repeated treatments that may rise to 2ml’s per session.
Lip fillers have a fairly long lifespan, with HA lasting between 9-12 months. Following this, the material is then subjected to enzymatic degradation by fibroblasts, resulting in the formation of shorter HA chains and finally fully absorbed but the body.
Most of our patients come in for top-ups between two and three times a year.
