The Preservation Rhinoplasty, also known as an ‘ultrasonic Rhinoplasty’ or the ‘Piezo Rhinoplasty’, revolutionising traditional Rhinoplasty and all because of the use of one innovative tool: a Piezo. A Piezo is an ultra-fine instrument that emits ultrasonic energy directly to the bone to create a less invasive transformation. As the name suggests, this type of expert Rhinoplasty works to preserve the nose as much as possible and does not use more invasive mechanical tools.
Using unique surgical techniques, the Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty works inside the nostrils, meaning any incisions and subsequent scarring will be hidden inside the nose. Two of the biggest benefits of this procedure are that one, the concern of scarring will be significantly lower and two, the procedural length is significantly shorter than a classic Rhinoplasty (usually only around 60 minutes).
During the procedure, there is less structural modification and the ultrasonic waves do not comprise the blood supply or nerves, which means better healing and minimal scarring ensues.
Some of the biggest benefits of the Piezo Rhinoplasty are:
The main difference between Open and Closed Rhinoplasties are in how invasive the procedure is. While an Open Rhinoplasty offers the surgeon increased access to the total structure of the nose, it can help them to create a greater result. However, this often means that recovery time will be extended. Closed Rhinoplasty or Preservation Rhinoplasty, on the other hand, does the opposite.
The two traditional types of Rhinoplasties are Open and Closed, however at 111 Harley St., we also offer a vast range of other types of Rhinoplasties that can be performed using an open or closed methodology to help you achieve the best result in line with your surgical goals. During your consultation, Dr Yannis will decide on a case-on-case basis which he feels would be more appropriate based on your goals and a closer examination of the nose.
Dr Yannis has been a practising surgeon for over twenty years, so you can be assured of his finesse and expertise.
How long does recovery take?
For all our Rhinoplasties, recovery time can alter depending on the procedure conducted. Yet it’s estimated that a full recovery can be between 6 months to a year, whereas the first, visible signs usually diminish between 2-4 weeks (such as bruising and superficial swelling). This is often the time when you can continue your usual activities, but not strenuous exercise.
Where shall I go for my Rhinoplasty?
Whatever your nose concern it is essential you choose the right surgeon, and fundamental that that person is a licensed doctor. Our resident doctor, Dr Yannis MD FACS, is a triple board-certified doctor and a member of both the General Medical Council and American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
When will I see results?
The results of a Rhinoplasty can be enjoyed as soon as the healing process is over – which can be up to a year. Once your cast or dressings is removed, however, it takes a little time for your nose to fully adjust to its new position and settle permanently. We will offer you our complimentary 111 Harley St. inaugural healing serum, Dr Yannis’ eponymous Y Theorem Serum, to rapidly accelerate your skin’s repair functions.
