At 111 Harley St. our most popular body procedures are:
Other body procedures we have available are Pectoral Implants, BBL and Gynaecomastia, alongside Facial Surgeries and non-surgical treatment plans too.
However, as we mainly get asked questions regarding our most popular surgeries, we’re going to be letting you know everything about Liposuction, Abdominoplasty and Breast Surgeries.
First up: the low-down on Liposuction. Scroll down for more.
The most common question we’re asked about Liposuction is, what areas can you have Liposuction on?
The answer is that Liposuction can be performed on most areas where a prominent amount of fat resides. Some of our most popular procedure areas are the arms, Liposuction for the stomach, or Thigh Liposuction. Another extremely popular area is Submental Liposuction – which is kind of considered informally as ‘double chin surgery’ and is an effective way to get rid of a double chin.
Book your first consultationUsually this depends on the size of the area being treated on and whether your procedure is being combined with another one – for example, a Tummy Tuck or Breast Surgery… Typically, however, Liposuction on its own, on the abdomen, would take around an hour upwards, and Liposuction for the face can be around 45 minutes. Depending on the size of your desired Liposuction area and the number of areas treated, you can gauge how long it will take using stomach Liposuction as a guide time.
Of course, your surgeon will outline formally how long your surgery will take – which can vary from person to person.
Liposuction cost can vary and as for guide prices, please contact our Patient Advisors or drop us a message on WhatsApp on 07495 733874.
Differing from a regular cannula that is a small tube placed in your arm during a Vitamin IV Drip for example, a Liposuction cannula is the surgical equipment used to remove the fat. One end of the instrument is attached to a tube which leads the unwanted fat away to a measuring cylinder – so your Plastic Surgeon will know exactly how much is removed. The other has small holes in the top to break part the fat cells and vacuum them away. It is essentially a medical device that has suction tubing to reduce fat cells.
Those that have the best result are those who are within a small range of their ideal weight and are overall healthy. Our medical criteria for Liposuction are those who have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or below 30. Traditionally, a BMI of over 30 means you may face more risks when going under general anaesthetic.
Below are other terms that you may hear during your time in the theatre, or on your surgical journey. Here are their definitions:
Lipoplasty or Suction Lipectomy – other words for Liposuction,
Sutures – the stiches used by your surgeon to hold skin and tissue together
VASER Liposuction – a type of Liposuction that uses ultrasound to sculpt the skin (also known as ultrasound-assisted Lipoplasty).
BMI – the body mass index scale that divides an adult’s weight in kilograms to their height in metres to assess if they are suitable for Liposuction. Traditionally, a BMI of over 30 means you’re not su
Compression garment – Specialist clothing worn to reduce swelling and help the body adapt to it’s new shape.
Gynaecomastia – a condition where fatty swellings can develop under men’s nipples to look like breasts
Lipomas – non-cancerous tumours of fatty tissue
Our second in the run-down of our most popular body procedures is the Tummy Tuck.
First things first, ‘Tummy Tuck’ is used simultaneously with the word Abdominoplasty – they’re the same thing.
A Tummy Tuck is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and improve the appearance of stretch marks, the aftereffects of dramatic weight loss or pregnancy. It is also able to tighten the stomach muscles. It is an ideal procedure for those wanting to have a flatter stomach – or a permanent surgical option for those who keep asking themselves how to get a flatter stomach…
Book your consultationThe procedure time for an Abdominoplasty varies depending on whether you’re having a Tummy Tuck alongside another procedure (as often a combined with Liposuction is recommended). Generally, though, on its own, a Tummy Tuck can take anywhere from 1-3 hours.
Peri-umbilicus incision – The name for an incision that is made around the belly button
Mini Tummy Tuck – Still tightens the stomach but does not give the full effect of a classic Abdominoplasty
Fleur-de-lis Tummy Tuck – The name for the surgical technique used that makes a lily-like shape.
Traditionally Tummy Tuck – When a long horizontal incision is made across the underwear line.
Apronectomy – A type of Abdominoplasty that removes only the excess skin and fat that hangs over the underwear band.

Now we’re onto Breast Surgeries and giving you more information on the type of questions we’re often asked about our Harley Street Breast Surgery.
Of course, when searching for the best breast surgeon you should book a consultation with Mr Reza Alamouti, who is a specialist in all types of Breast Surgeries, including:
Harley Street Breast Augmentation
Areola Reduction
Breast Reduction
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Implant Removal
This is a very common question and Breast Surgery will not be painful as it is performed under general anaesthetic. So the only pain minor you can expect on the day of your surgery is when a cannula is placed within your arm vein to administer the anaesthetic.
Discover more about Breast SurgeryThe implants we use in our Harley Street clinic are Motiva. Motiva has an amazing range of implants that mimic the feel of real breast tissue, that come in many different shapes: from round implants, with a fuller projection to those that have a more sloped silhouette.
The biggest benefits of Motiva’s Ergonomix technology is that they are placed in a way so that they will move with your body, they look natural and hold a round shape when lying down and, as mentioned, a more sloped shape when standing, they also feel and move like real breast tissue.
This depends on the type of surgery you have, for example, with a Breast Augmentation, the incisions made are extremely discrete and hidden beneath the breast. Whereas, for a Breast Lift or Breast Reduction, the scarring is more visible.
Inframammary incision – An incision made below the breast usually this is the only incision made during a breast augmentation.
Peri-areola Incision– Denoting to around the areola (the area surrounding the nipple).
Anchor Incision – often used during Breast Reductions, the anchor incision is made using a peri-areola incision that then makes one vertical line down to the base of the breast which is extended along beneath the breast making the shape of an anchor.
The Lollipop Incision – This is an incision that resembles a lolly with a circle incision made around the areola and one vertical line down the base of the breast.
Doughnut Incision – This is when your surgeon will only make an incision around the ring of the areola, removing any excess tissue through a small section.
Keyhole Incision – You can possibly guess used during a Breast Reduction. Your surgeon will use a tool called a Keyhole Breast Marker which outlines the position your new nipple will be.
Areola Marker – a circular tool that looks like a cookie cutter that is used during surgery to ensure a precise circle is drawn around the areola.
Kennel Funnel – This is used during all surgeries where an implant is inserted. The Kennel Funnel is a sterile bag that looks a lot like a piping bag for baking. It holds the breast implant and means it can be inserted through a very narrow incision. It’s highly effective method used by most Plastic Surgeons – Mr Reza and Dr Yannis especially.
