What to expect from the procedure?

The Bullhorn Lip Lift is a surgical procedure typically performed under local anaesthesia and the procedure usually takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.

The surgeon will make a small incision along the natural crease below your nose and remove a bullhorn shape of the tissue. Following this, the surgeon will lift the skin and stitch it into place using fine sutures to support healing and minimise scarring.

Post Procedure

Around 7-10 days after the procedure, you will have a follow-up appointment to remove the stitches. The lips are likely to ache for the first few days following the procedure and can be tender for several weeks, so you will want to eat soft foods and avoid hot liquids for the first few days. There is usually little to no bruising, and swelling lasts around 3-10 days.

Bullhorn Lip Lift or Lip Filler?

Lip Fillers are a semi-permanent solution, and you will have to return every few months to have the procedure re-done in order to maintain the plumpness. Lip Fillers are not permanent and therefore you are able to change the look you are going for and return to your natural lips. However, it is less cost-effective as results typically last around 4-6 months, so you will return for more filler if you wish to maintain the look.
