The main difference between classic botox injections and Baby Botox is the amount administered. All botox treatments contain the extremely versatile ingredient, botulinum toxin, which when injected, temporarily blocks the chemical release of the primary neurotransmitter involved in muscle movement called acetylcholine. However, during a Baby Botox treatment the volume of botulinum toxin is minimal. Our Aesthetic Doctor and Nurse will seamlessly administer enough to delicately rejuvenate and smooth and ensure that you still remain yourself and your facial expressions are not dramatically restricted.
There are some misconceptions surrounding botox injections that usually stem from a fear of looking too firm or frozen. Luckily, this is not the case anymore as the techniques and technology is extremely advanced. However, if you are injected by an inexperienced or unlicensed practitioner, this can still occur if too much is used. Therefore, one of the most important elements to consider before any aesthetic treatment is choosing who is going to perform your treatment. At 111 Harley Street, we believe the best results are conducted by the best. So, depending on your preference, you can have your Baby Botox treatment performed either by our exceptional Aesthetic Doctor – who specialises in injectable rejuvenation – or our highly-talented Aesthetic Nurse.

Baby Botox is an informal name given to a style of Botox treatment that focuses on naturalness and subtly. It prevents the worsening of wrinkles and lines by targeting the underlying muscle that wrinkles the overlying skin. It restricts the contraction of the muscle, so the overlying skin appears smoother. By inhibiting this movement, the solution can create many other positive aesthetic effects and may improve other health benefits.
It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effects of Baby Botox depending on the size of the area treated and the condition.
The permanency varies from patient to patient, but usually, Baby Botox starts to wear off after around 12 weeks. Its longevity also depends on the strength of the muscle.
No, there is no downtime, but you may experience slight bruising at the injection site.

You may desire to repeat the treatment when you see your aesthetic concerns returning. For wrinkles, this may be every three-six months.
Baby Botox takes approximately 5-20 minutes. For other techniques, the treatment time may be longer.
Each patient’s pain threshold varies, but generally, most patients don’t find this treatment painful. You may feel a slight sting as the needle enters the skin. The treatment doesn’t require topical numbing cream. Botox for sweating may be more uncomfortable as the treated areas are can be sensitive.

Usually if you’re seeing visible lines that do not soften when your face is relaxed, this is when patients become interested in preventing them from developing further. Your nurse will discuss the associated risks and side effects with you during your consultation. Some risks include:
- Possible headache for 24 hours after the treatment
- Bruising and redness at the injection site
- Potential migration of the substance, poor injection technique or overuse of the toxin could cause drooping eyelids or eyebrows. It would be best if you avoided exercise and rubbing the area for 24 hours after the injections
- Resistance over time to the treatment with ongoing use, making it less effective
- Tingling or other sensation at the injection site
