The best way to decide whether a Lip Flip or Lip Filler is right for you is to ask yourself what kind of result you want.
For example, if you want to reduce the appearance of a long philtrum – which is the name for the distance between the outer border of your top lip and the bottom of your nostrils – then Lip Fillers and a Lip Flip will not be suitable and a surgical Lip Lift may be better suited to you.
However, if you’re looking to add volume to the lips, or alter their shape and redefine the border. Lip Fillers would be ideal for you.
Lip Fillers are formed mainly of high quality hyaluronic acid which has immense water attracting abilities in the skin. When injected into the lips, the hyaluronic acid has an immediate volumising and filling effect, and as it helps to attract water molecules within the skin, it also hydrates the lips. So, immediately after your treatment you can expect your lips to look not only bigger, but also redder as they become moisturised.
There are many different types of techniques when it comes to administering Lip Fillers and depending on the type of result you want to see, you can choose from the below. Of course, our Injectable Specialists will be able to identify which Lip Filler technique would be right for you based on your ideal outcomes.

Book a Lip Filler Consultation hereAs mentioned above, Lip Fillers are great because of their immediacy. However, a Lip Flip offers a natural enhancement to your existing lip shape, and rather than adding volume, it works to show more of the lips giving the impression of a fuller pout.
A Lip Flip works by injecting Botox into two points of the Cupid’s bow to inhibit the movement of the orbiculares oris muscle. When this happens, this causes your lip to ‘flip’ and roll subtly upwards, showing more of the upper lip and making them appear fuller and larger.
One of the benefits of this treatment is that you can see more of the lip’s water line (which is the soft inside part of the lip) which cannot be treated with Lip Fillers.

Laser lip plumping is a new trend and offers subtle and buildable fullness over a course of treatments. While this can be achieved with a variety of different lasers, at 111 Harley St. our preferred device is ClearLift created by the internationally-known brand, Alma Lasers.
How Does ClearLift Work?
ClearLift is a zero downtime laser that is known for it’s anti-ageing effects and collagen-stimulating abilities. The technology behind ClearLift is a combination of a fractional Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser with Near Infrared technology. The device disperses pixelated energy at a depth of 3mm into the skin to create a controlled process of damaging and healing. This triggers the skin to remodel itself without causing visible damage to the surface layers.
The biggest benefit of this is that you can target your whole face as well as the lips in one treatment to ensure your skin looks naturally full, plump and healthy.
