Dr Richie Barclay has been a fully-accredited Nutrition and Exercise Physiology Consultant since 2011, and works with people who are looking to improve their body composition, prepare and recover from surgery.
He holds a Ph.D. in Metabolism, Nutrition, and Physiology, and specialises in transformation of body composition. Working with 111 Harley St., alongside some of London’s leading brands, he adopts a tried and tested methodology to maximise the speed and sustainability of your results. He leverages several different testing protocols, including resting metabolic rate testing to measure calorie expenditure and fuel utilisation, blood biochemistry analysis, DEXA scanning, gut microbiome, and food sensitivity testing.
Tailoring his approach for each client he works with, ensuring you receive a personalised strategy which maximises your success from working with him.
He understands that a nutrition and exercise plan can only be successful if it can be adhered to, and thus, Dr Richie will seek to fully understand what is realistic for your lifestyle, and what you can do to improve day-to-day.
Through his experience, and own body composition journey earlier in life, he has developed an approach which is empathetic, and considers the psychology behind the adherence to a nutritional and exercise programme. Beyond this, he understands that accountability is an important element of any nutritional programme, and thus, he will tailor your consultation schedule to your requirements, and offer ad-hoc support when required via email between consultations to ensure you are fully supported.
During your first consultation, you will undergo an initial assessment, and have a tailored programme (which may include some testing recommendations) created to suit your lifestyle and individual needs. Then, he will create a food and exercise plan which is achievable and gleans the results you are seeking. This plan is continuously updated to ensure you are building on your work together. During follow up consultations, you will discuss progress of the plan, have body composition measurements, and develop new nutritional, exercise, and lifestyle elements to implement daily. Dr Richie Barclay has acquired a Ph.D. in Metabolism, Nutrition and Exercise at The University of Roehampton, a Masters in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Westminster University and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences at Staffordshire University. Alongside this, he has accreditations from BDA, SENr and ISAK, as well as fully trained in phlebotomy. Currently and in the past, he has worked with many elite athletes, celebrities, and C-suite business leaders.
He has also received recognition in numerous publications, papers, and medical journals.
